If your Sandpicture has been standing still for a few days simply:
If the sand ceases to fall, gently tilt the picture from side to side to get it moving.
The speed the sand falls at can be adjusted by inserting a very fine syringe needle through the small hoile in the side of wooden frame.
--Extracting air makes the sand fall quicker.
--Inserting air makes the sand fall slower
